Reg Presley (1936–2021) was an English singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band The Troggs. Emerging in the 1960s, The Troggs became a key figure in the garage rock and proto-punk movements, particularly with their raw, energetic sound and straightforward songwriting. Their most notable works include the hit singles "Wild Thing" (1966), "With a Girl Like You" (1966), and "Love Is All Around" (1967), the latter of which gained renewed fame through its feature in the film "Four Weddings and a Funeral" (1994). Presley's vocal style and the band’s simplistic yet catchy melodies had a significant influence on the punk rock genre, inspiring bands such as The Ramones and The Sex Pistols. The Troggs’ music is characterized by its driving rhythms and straightforward lyrics, which encapsulated the spirit of the 1960s youth culture. Beyond his work with The Troggs, Presley also explored interests in ufology and wrote about his experiences.
